My F150 doesn't have the full console in the front so I'm all good there. I have the stock system set to "driver" and come to think of it, I'm not sure if I've ever noticed the rear speakers and so I'll opt for no rear fill. I have two 8's right now but am changing to a single 10 in 1ft cubed, sealed.Įxcellent, thanks therapture. Underneath rear seat area is limited to about 1.5ft total so pick subs that can work in the given space or go with a single 10.

My Alpine S 6x9's are ran as pure midbass drivers and I run them bandpassed from 90-300/24db. If you have a full console it creates a bass trap on the driver's side right at your knees and needs careful EQ and time alignment to center it. The less you put on the door speakers the better especially if you have a full console as it creates weirdness.

You need to be able to cross the tweets at about 1000hz at least to get your stage high easily. I run a wideband crossed at 300/24db slope. Get a large format tweeter you can cross low.

6.5's are ok but don't have the cone area of the larger drivers. Spend your cash on the front doors, run an 8 or a good 6x9 and seal off the front doors and you'll be able to have great midbass. The rear speaker is so close to your head that you'll need to massively attenuate them and run massive amounts of delay.
